Design/ Project Engineers in Houston, TX
Rock Oilfield Group LP seeks Design/ Project Engineers in Houston, TX, to coordinate and
design subsea and offshore equipment per clients' specifications at client site. Modify existing
designs to suit new purposes. Create conceptual designs and general arrangements for clients.
Collaborate with the client's manufacturing engineers to insure all designs conform to company's
manufacturing standards and capabilities. Supervise all drafting, author engineering analysis
assessments, and write other technical reports.
Develop appropriate strategies for clients, supervise the installation of any machinery company
designed at the clients' offshore drilling sites, and provide technical assistance as required.
Complete design layouts, technical documentation, and drawings for clients.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, plus at least 4
years of experience in the oilfield industry, utilizing knowledge of relevant equipment design,
fabrication, and quality assurance measures. In lieu of the above, qualified candidate may have an
Associate degree plus 6 years of industry-related work experience.

Project Managers in Houston, TX,
Rock Oilfield Group LP seeks a Project Manager in Houston, TX, to manage subsea tree
production systems for company's oil drilling project at the client site in the same metropolitan area
in Houston, TX. Lead a team of highly skilled individuals to initially develop and design, through to
the procurement, the build and test; both of the subsea equipment and the subsea tree system and
software programming.
Monitor/Manage the activities of main subsea hardware contractors including the review and
approval of engineering design documentation associated with the supply of a subsea tree
production system, on site representation at the manufacturing site(s) dealing with day to day
technical queries and deviations. Liaison with Project Engineers / Project Team Leaders and other
discipline engineers, to develop and maintain control philosophies, system specifications and any
other key documents of subsea tree and wellhead system. Provide input to statement of
requirements, basis of design and other key project documents. Develop and maintain equipment
specifications and requisitions for a range of subsea tree and wellhead systems including
equipment mounted topside.
Liaison with vendors and equipment suppliers to ensure subsea tree and wellhead equipment are
delivered in line with the projects goals and objectives; plus provide assurance and interface
management on vendor and contractor activities. Provide technical support/monitoring during
manufacture, fabrication, assembly & testing of subsea tree and wellhead systems. Utilize general
knowledge of subsea infrastructure, API specs and subsea controls/programming is required.
Participate with Design and Safety Reviews, HAZOP, HAZIDs, Risk Assessments etc. Develop and
maintain specifications and procedures, where appropriate, for the onshore testing, loadout,
installation & commissioning of subsea tree production systems and wellhead systems.
Provide accurate reports for progress and changes throughout the execution phase of a project.
Incorporate efficient and effective design of the subsea tree and wellhead systems. Identify and
solve problems arising in the operation of subsea tree and wellhead systems and equipment.
Assess the risks associated with the design, supply and operation of subsea tree and wellhead
systems and equipment. Manage life-of-field costs for the subsea tree and wellhead systems.
Responsible to deliver packages of work for engineering activities and technical assurance.
Develop and co-ordinate subsea schedules, manpower estimates, associated costs, designs,
deliverables and project reporting for various work packages including work associated with
feasibility, conceptual and front end engineering studies. Understand Clients' HSE requirements.
Understand HSE working practices at clients' sites/installations.
Have the sole responsibility to communicate between the client and Rock-Oilfield, plus also have
the necessary skill set to lead their team in communication with the clients operations groups
worldwide on both technical and training level, for both the hardware and software based issues.
Position requires B.Sc. in Engineering or Mathematics or closely-related field, plus 5+ years of
post-degree experience in oil drilling project management, utilizing knowledge of design,
procurement, and build of Subsea hardware.
In lieu of the above, the candidate may have a Master's degree in Engineering or Mathematics or a
closely-related field, with 2 years of relevant work experience.
